About “up to 60% cheaper”.
The headline compares against the most expensive publicly priced rung of the market — SendGrid at 1M, US$ 799/month versus our US$ 319. Against Resend specifically, the difference in the table above runs from 38% to 52%.
What carries over
- The official Resend SDK: new Resend("ms_…", { baseUrl: "https://api-mepmail.je4ndev.com" }).
- The sending endpoints you already call: /emails, /emails/batch and /emails/{id}/cancel.
- Domain, key, webhook, template and suppression management, with the same request shapes where the two overlap.
- The SMTP relay, for stacks that send over SMTP instead of HTTPS.
What does not carry over
- Inbound email, dedicated IPs and SSO are not part of the compatibility promise.
- The management surface is smaller: we cover sending, domains, keys, webhooks, templates, suppressions and contacts — not every endpoint Resend ships.
- Free and Starter stop at a daily cap instead of billing overage.
- Attachment limit per message: 1 MB on Free and Starter, 5 MB on Pro, 10 MB on Scale.
Migration
Three steps, about 15 minutes.
- Create the account and add your sending domain: we generate the DKIM and MAIL FROM records and wait for verification with you.
- Swap the base URL and the key in your Resend client. The SDK and your send calls stay exactly as they are.
- Send a test and follow the log in the panel. Then move production traffic.
Domain propagation and verification can take longer than the migration itself; automatic verification runs every 15 minutes. Using flows outside the compatible set? Tell us before migrating: we review them with you and say plainly what is not equivalent.
